CBD is the biggest trend in recovery and pain relief. Kill Cliff is in the game with KILL CLIFF CBD (learn more about it here).
CBD can be controversial because it comes from the cannabis sativa plant, which is the same plant that produces marijuana. We've laid out all of the details of CBD here, so this blog will not go deep into everything CBD, but we will answer one of the biggest questions surrounding CBD: Will CBD get me high?
The short answer: NO
There are over eighty different chemical cannabinoid compounds found in the trichomes (small hairs) of cannabis. These cannabinoids all produce certain effects in the body by attaching themselves to certain receptors. The two most well-known cannabinoids are THC and CBD.
Humans produce endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to receptors and impact pain, mood, appetite, sleep, and a variety of other functions.
For those of you that are familiar with marijuana, you likely know about THC. For those that don't, THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana that gives the high sensation.
It can be a complicated matter, but essentially what you need to know is THC interacts with the receptors that get you high, while CBD interacts with the receptors that deal with pain and inflammation.
We can't speak for all CBD products, but at Kill Cliff, the CBD for Kill Cliff CBD is an extract from full-spectrum hemp. That means that the extract uses the entire cannabis sativa plant, which can occasionally contain a trace amount of THC. Having said that, Kill Cliff CBD contains 0% THC and non-psychoactive.
Due to there being 0% THC, you will not get high from Kill Cliff CBD. In terms of all full-spectrum CBD products, with there being such small amounts of THC included, you would have to ingest an INSANE amount of the products to get any sort of high feeling. Consumers using normal or recommended amounts of full-spectrum CBD products will not get high.
