Will I Fail A Drug Test Because of CBD?

CBD is the biggest trend in recovery and pain relief. KILL CLIFF is in the game with KILL CLIFF CBD (learn more about it here)

CBD can be controversial because it comes from the cannabis sativa plant, which is the same plant that produces marijuana.  We've laid out all of the details of CBD here, so this blog will not go deep into everything CBD, but we will answer one of the biggest questions surrounding CBD: Will I fail a drug test because of CBD?

The short answer: NO

There are over eighty different chemical cannabinoid compounds found in the trichomes (small hairs) of cannabis. These cannabinoids all produce certain effects in the body by attaching themselves to certain receptors. The two most well-known cannabinoids are THC and CBD.

Humans produce endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to receptors and impact pain, mood, appetite, sleep, and a variety of other functions.

For those of you that are familiar with marijuana, you likely know about THC. For those that don't, THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana that gives the high sensation.

It can be a complicated matter, but essentially what you need to know is THC interacts with the receptors that get you high, while CBD interacts with the receptors that deal with pain and inflammation.

Drug tests screen for THC or one of its main metabolites, THC-COOH.

According to Mayo Clinic Proceedings from 2017, federal workplace drug testing cut-off values were established to avoid the possibility that trace amounts of THC or THC-COOH would trigger a positive test.

So, unless you are taking CBD products in remarkably high quantities than you should not worry about failing a drug test.

The most common type of CBD on the market is Full-Spectrum CBD. Full Spectrum means that the entire cannabis sativa plant is used to create the CBD extract, which can occasionally contain a trace amount of THC.

For CBD products to be federally legal, they have to have less than 0.3% of THC present in the product.

KILL CLIFF CBD has 0% THC, so you can enjoy the great taste of Orange Kush while receiving all of the wonderful benefits KILL CLIFF CBD has to offer. If you are interested in giving it a try, visit this link to the KILL CLIFF CBD product page to learn more.
