While two recent independent, peer-reviewed studies* suggest compounds in cannabis—such as CBD—seem to prevent the COVID-19 virus from entering human cells, a trial study in the U.K. points to cannabis as a useful tool in treating “long COVID.”
Long COVID is defined as symptoms from the virus that do not resolve within the first four weeks of infection. Long COVID affects about 10% to 30% of patients.
Patients taking 0.1 milliliter of cannabis oil a day reported nearly immediate improvement in their symptoms.
From VICE World News: “We need to address long COVID and quickly,” David Badcock, chief executive of Drug Science, said. Scientists have been proposing cannabis as “an important therapeutic plant against post-COVID symptoms” since a study published in the Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics in April 2021 found that the cannabinoids CBD and Cannabivarin (CVN) can “be beneficial in post-COVID symptoms treatment strategy.”
Help Is Already Here
While Kill Cliff’s line of clean, great tasting CBD beverages has not been approved (yet!) for use in COVID-related treatment and prevention, it’s worth noting each 12-ounce can of Kill Cliff has a whopping 25 milligrams of CBD, distilled from 125 mg of broad-spectrum hemp.
That CBD is more readily bioavailable than other methods of ingestion. (Here's why.)
Flavors include Mango Tango, Strawberry Daze, The G.O.A.T. (Grapest of All Time), Flaming Joe Spicy Pineapple, and Orange Kush. The new line of Octane drinks, with 125 mg of clean, all-natural caffeine in addition to 25 mg of CBD, includes the popular Kill Cliffsicle and, in March, Laser Lemons.
