Better Life Foundation Benefit Concert - Kill Cliff

Better Life Foundation Benefit Concert

Chances are you’ve heard of the band 3 Doors Down. They’ve been pumping out music for over 20 years including the song Kryptonite which I’m willing to bet you sing along to every time you hear it. The same is probably true for tunes like Here Without You and When I’m Gone, the latter of which has become somewhat of an unofficial anthem in tribute to U.S military service members. Bottom line, 3 Doors Down is an enormously successful group that’s sold over 20 million albums worldwide and their debut studio album The Better Life has been certified 6x platinum. They rock.

What you might not know is that they also give back in a big way. The band has been running a non-profit organization for nearly 15 years. In March of 2004, they established The Better Life Foundation with the mission to make a positive change in the lives of children and young adults in need of food, shelter, and medical assistance. Each year The Better Life Foundation works to raise and distribute money to organizations and hospitals that serve to give children a better life; one where they can develop their potential, achieve their goals, and become caring and responsible adults.

In 2005, when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, The Better Life Foundation provided funds to support areas of southern Mississippi that were largely overlooked by the press and media. Working directly with local municipalities, the Foundation helped support the rebuilding process as well as buying fire trucks and police cars. All told, the Foundation has raised and distributed over $3,000,000 to date!

As part of their annual giving, 3 Doors Down hosts a benefit concert weekend as the primary source of donations and funding. This year, the 15th annual benefit weekend took place on October 27th at the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel in North Carolina. The weekend consisted of a VIP party, motorcycle ride, silent auction, custom built motorcycle raffle and concert with an opening set from Collective Soul. Past guest performers have included: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tracey Lawrence, Shinedown, Staind, Hinder, Sara Evans, Muzikmafia, Daughtry, Theory of a Deadman, Jamey Johnson, Seether, Saving Abel, and others.

For the 3rd year in a row, Kill Cliff sponsored the event with a $25,000 donation and The Better Life Foundation distributed $15,000 of this to the Navy SEAL Foundation. In keeping with the mission of The Better Life Foundation, the Navy SEAL Foundation supports the children of active duty and fallen service members through a series of camps, as well as educational opportunities. Kill Cliff is proud to support this event. These guys continue to use their notoriety to give back to those in need, support the military, and just generally be all around great Americans. All things that are right up our alley. Thanks for all that you do!
